Ever since Salesforce announced the launch of Einstein GPT in March 2023, organizations have been buzzing with the potential that AI could bring to their operations on the platform.
Our newly launched freemium App, Smart Actions, is about to deliver on this promise. It enables you to deploy AI (including external LLM’s, like ChatPGT, Claude and Gemini) to any business process in Salesforce via a configurable, user-friendly interface.
Smart Actions enables you to build a library of “smart” automations in Salesforce, using natural language, which can execute specific tasks, or task sequences, at the touch of a button. This is done Via Ortoo’s own native Prompt Builder.
This is a bit like building Custom GPTs INSIDE your Salesforce instance – a virtual assistant that undertakes work on your behalf.
Smart Actions: Before and after
To bring Smart Actions to life, here’s a quick look at life before and after.
Before Smart Actions
Every day, Julia, a senior Business Development Rep with Litmus Health, sits down at her desk and surveys her inbound Lead queue. First of all, some filtering: Julia manually opens up the Lead, scans the information in the comments, looks at the email address and make a judgment on whether or not it’s one for follow up, or straight to the trash bin. If it’s the latter, then Julia updates the Lead status to ‘Disqualified’.
Not spam? Great. Next stop, Julia will enrich the Lead with some more relevant information for her Account Executive colleagues. For example, the company name if that’s identifiable from the email address, and then the website URL. She then takes a look to see if she can find the Contact’s Linkedin URL and adds that in too.
Finally, Julia decides on next steps. Does it get assigned to the marketing team for further email nurture? Or does this go straight to an Account Exec for immediate follow up, and if so, who?
Julia has around 50 Leads to review every day. It takes her around an hour and a half to get all of the Lead processing done.
There has to be a better way!
And now there is. Smart Actions allow you to perform all of these processes at the click of a button. Here’s that story again, but this time with powerful AI driven automations in place.
After Smart Actions
Rather than spending time reviewing the comment field in a Lead record, Julia hits a button to initiate a spam analysis and, on detection, immediately updates the Lead status to disqualified.
For Lead enrichment, instead of switching between browser windows, copy and pasting into the Lead record, Julia clicks the button in the Lead, and Smart Actions retrieve the pertinent information and adds it directly into the relevant fields. Finally, one more click and Julia has assigned the Lead to the correct Account Exec, AND sent a Slack notification.
This AI-enhanced workflow not only saves time but also reduces the potential for human error, allowing Julia to focus on more strategic tasks.
Power any business process with AI-on-demand actions
Of course this, is just one use case for Smart Actions. These dynamic automations are fully configurable and can be applied to literally any process or object in Salesforce.
- Want to trigger a swarm? No problem.
- Call out to ChatGPT to compose an email? You’ve got it.
- Schedule a follow up meeting? Smart Actions are on it.
Whatever business process you are currently managing in Salesforce, imagine the efficiency gains you could achieve by replacing manual sequences, with automatic execution via one button click in the relevant record?
How Smart Actions Differ from Einstein Copilot
Scope: Smart Actions is designed with user experience at the forefront, offering extensive customization options to fit various business processes. It can be tailored to support virtually any workflow or Salesforce object. Einstein Copilot, in contrast, offers a robust but more limited set of predefined capabilities.
Cost Efficiency: One of the most compelling features of Smart Actions is its cost-effectiveness. The application offers a freemium model where users can execute up to five actions per day for free, making it accessible for businesses of all sizes. This contrasts with Einstein Copilot, which requires a subscription.
